Your career at Breutac — Tax Advisory and Controversy Munich
Whether you are a career starter, an experienced lawyer, a legal clerk / research assistant, or a legal assistant (REFA): We are looking for ambitious talents like you.
Breutac is a tax law boutique founded in 2026 in the heart of Munich. In a small, specialized team, we provide high-level expert advice on complex tax matters.
Our team combines high specialization with experience from the world of “Big Law.” We are looking for legal clerks who view tax law not as a peripheral area, but as a professional focus.
Our focus lies in tax controversy, tax investigations, matters at the intersection of tax and criminal law, as well as tax reorganizations and restructurings.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for legal clerks who have a strong interest in tax law and wish to complete their legal or elective clerkship in a professionally demanding, specialized environment.
We are currently looking for:
Legal Clerks
What to expect:
With us, you will actively work on ongoing mandates from the very beginning. You will not take on isolated research tasks or provide mere background support; instead, you will be directly involved in our team’s professional work.
Specifically, this means:
- Working on complex and fundamental tax mandates
- Involvement in tax controversy and disputes with tax authorities
- Participation in tax investigations, including those with criminal law implications
- Analysis and structuring of demanding tax matters
What we offer:
You will work in direct exchange with experienced lawyers. Your contributions are visible, your arguments count – and you will have the opportunity to experience demanding tax mandates firsthand. You will benefit from constructive feedback and a collaboration that takes your individual training situation into account. We coordinate your working days flexibly so that the clerkship can be meaningfully combined with the requirements of your legal training.
Your profile:
You have completed your First State Examination with above-average results, possess very good English skills, and wish to engage deeply with demanding tax law issues. Furthermore, you are a good fit for us if you bring the following:
- A particular interest in tax law as a professional focus
- Enjoyment of precise analysis, legal reasoning, and attention to detail
- Intellectual curiosity, initiative, and enjoyment of collaborative professional work
Initial experience in tax law is welcome but not a requirement.
If you would like to use your clerkship to experience demanding tax law firsthand and actively participate in a specialized team, we look forward to receiving your application.
Research Assistant, Legal or Elective Clerkship in Tax Law (m/f/d)
What to expect:
You will work with us as a full member of the team from day one. Instead of isolated research tasks or mere background support, you will participate in:
- advising on complex, fundamental tax issues, including those related to (re)structuring.
- advising on tax controversy – before tax authorities, tax courts, and the Federal Fiscal Court.
- tax investigations, including those with links to tax criminal law.
Our work is often critical – accordingly, we take your role very seriously. In a firm of our size, there is no “second row.” Your work is visible, your arguments count. You coordinate your working days so that they fit your training – not the other way around.
